This southeastern gem has a rich history, an event (or several) each month, and…. A TRAIN! Tannehill is located between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, Alabama in a town named McCalla. They are well-known for their Halloween Fairyland event held each October. The campground is first come, first served however and fills quickly during this time of year! Some reviewers from Campendium mentioned sites being slightly close together, so be sure to do you research on if this location suites your style! If you don’t have any luck finding a spot within the Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park, this destination is worth at least checking out for the day! Hiawassee, Georgia
In our experience, you can’t go wrong RVing basically anywhere in the Blue Ridge mountain area. One campground in particular stands out in the Hiawassee area, for many reasons and we are delighted to share this fall paradise with you! Mountain View Campground offers a beautiful view of fall colors and is located near many fun activities.

Helen is a short drive if you wish to see an alpine town, Brasstown Bald is the highest point in the state of Georgia, and if you’re into biking, Jack Rabbit trailhead offers awesome trails just over the border in North Carolina.
