Cleaning Tips
Create a cleaning solution using Dawn dish liquid, white vinegar, and water. Use this solution to wipe all of the surfaces inside your RV. This solution will not only clean, but it will disinfect your RV.
Use cotton swabs to clean all of those hard-to-reach areas. Cotton swabs are great to use when cleaning out your window seals. There are a variety of sizes of cotton swabs to clean all of those hard-to-reach areas.
Vacuum out all of your vents inside of your RV. You can unscrew the vents to get inside of them to make sure to get out all of the dust. Keep your vents closed when not using your furnace.
Take the cover off the AC on the inside of your RV. Clean the filter and wipe away any dust. (This should be done every 2 weeks if you are using your AC)
Vacuum and wipe down all ceiling vents.
If you have vinyl flooring under your slide, you can use a Swiffer Duster to reach under it to clean the area. Just be careful not to shove it too hard! The duster can come off and end up outside or in the rubber closer to your slide!
If you have any stains on your mattress or fabric couches or you just want to freshen them up, you can create a great solution to clean those areas. Get a spray bottle and add baking soda, white vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide. Spray this solution on the area, if there are tough stains spray a little more on those areas. Let this solution sit for 30 to 45 minutes. Come back and gently scrub the stained areas and vacuum the entire mattress.
Take a window cleaner and clean all of your windows and any stainless steel items.
For rugs and carpets sprinkle baking soda liberally and allow to sit for about 30 minutes and vacuum up.
Keep moisture out of your RV by using dehumidifiers. There are many kinds so choose the ones that work best for you. There are disposable, rechargeable, and electric dehumidifiers. Moisture inside your RV is very dangerous for you and your pets. It doesn’t take long for mold to begin to grow.
Declutter Tips
Begin in one area of your RV!
Empty out all of the cupboards and shelves in that area.
Wipe down the shelves.
Create 3 piles-(1) things I use (2) things I rarely use (3) things I never use
Make some hard decisions on what items you can get rid of to keep down the clutter inside your RV.
Move to the next area and repeat.
This process should be done every spring so that you can enjoy your RV and not worry about what is hidden within all of those cupboards.
Have an assigned area for everything in your RV to keep down a cluttered look.
Choose items that have multifunctional uses.
If something new comes into the RV look for something to take out.
Organization Tips
Use clear storage containers for your cooking supplies.
Use ottomans to store shoes, blankets, or other large items.
